Small businesses face serious difficulties in implementing environmental management systems, including limited resources, knowledge and technical capabilities, high initial costs and a marginal public effect of these actions. The task is how to adapt the environmental management systems, in terms of content and design, to the characteristics of small business. Improving environmental performance also contributes to the development of new business lines for SMEs themselves as important suppliers of goods and services. It is proposed to solve these problems through the implementation of tools of information impact, regulation and economic incentives for small and medium-sized enterprises to achieve the requirements of environmental legislation and the introduction of a wider «green» practice.
