The economy of tourist services in the Russian Federation has some features that are disclosed in this article. Features caused by changes in the purchasing power of the population and sanctions. The geography of inbound and outbound tourism is changing due to the volatility of the purchasing power of the population, the exchange rate and sanctions. Currently, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, China are the leaders in inbound tourism, which has the potential for growth due to the income of its population. Major sporting events contribute to a significant increase in tourism services. The dependence of the number of tourist flow and the cost of sold tour packages, the number of agencies, hotels and other services. The indicators of tourism industry in Russia demonstrated considerable growth. It is recommended to reorient tourist flows to domestic and inbound tourism, which will attract investment in the regions of Russia.
