The article presents the results of a study of the system of regulations and standards governing the processes of designing and improving public green areas in populated areas. Special attention is paid to the key requirements that must be met during the design process. In the context of urbanization, when the need for green spaces is growing, it is necessary to explore how regulatory regulation can contribute to the creation of comfortable and functional spaces for citizens. The authors analyze the current legislative acts, sanitary norms and codes of practice, and emphasize the importance of integrating environmental, socio-economic and cultural aspects into the design process. The article also describes the impact of existing standards on the design process and issues that require further research and improvements. The article highlights the need for an integrated approach to designing and developing recommendations to improve existing standards, which will create more harmonious and environmentally friendly urban environments that enhance the well-being of citizens.
