The article presents the results of research on the impact of rural agglomerations on industrial development. The relevance of this issue is determined by the scale of participation of rural areas in social and economic processes, the accumulated level of problems of their development and the observed growing importance of rural development problems in government initiatives. The aim of the article is to identify and systematize the manifestations of the multiplier effect of rural agglomerations development for industry. The logic of spillover effects and multiplier effect is chosen as the conceptual methodology of impact analysis, which explains the social and economic positive effects of investments in the development of rural areas on the principles of agglomeration approach. Rural agglomerations are considered in the work within the research logic of cluster and network approaches. The author reviewed the current state of Russian and foreign scientific discourse on the problems of socially and economically significant benefits of rural agglomerations development in the direction of stimulating industry, proposed a classification of multiplier effect manifestations for various industries. Special attention is paid to the justification of the gap between the current state of representation of the problems of spillover effects and multiplier effect of rural agglomerations development in the literature and the needs of regional and federal authorities in theoretical and methodological support of territorial development programs. Based on the results of the study, the authors identified key areas for further research on the multiplier effect of rural agglomerations development for industry and justified the need to expand the empirical base for assessing the development of municipalities in rural areas in order to provide the think tanks with information for further analysis of the effects of policies aimed at their development.
