The article presents an analytical review of known methodological approaches to assessing the economic efficiency of rice growing with an analysis of their industry-specific features. The author's formulation of this problem is proposed and a formalized description of a comprehensive integrated multi-criteria assessment of the economic efficiency of rice growing is given, taking into account regional features of the use of resource potential. The presented algorithm for assessing the economic efficiency of rice growing provides for the calculation of private integral coefficients of the efficiency of rice-growing organizations by groups of indicators characterizing the level of influence of natural and climatic conditions, technical and technological equipment, the possibility of expanded production and the availability of labor resources. Rating rice-growing organizations based on a comprehensive integral efficiency indicator will provide a reliable assessment of the level of use of the region's rice-growing potential and justify measures to improve their economic efficiency. To implement the proposed algorithm for assessing the economic efficiency of regional rice growing, a system of information and software has been developed, including zonal databases of rice cultivation technologies and technical means implementing them, as well as working programs for generating initial information to perform calculations, information identity of a specific rice-growing farm, and tabular and graphical presentation of the results of solving the problem. Rice-growing assessment involves the use of a system of indicators, the integration of which will provide a comprehensive assessment of the level of functioning of rice production. The proposed level methodology includes an assessment of the efficiency of rice growing both at the regional level and at the level of rice-growing organizations operating in the region under study with the calculation of a general indicator of the efficiency of functioning of rice-growing farms in the region.
