STATE REGULATION OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY IN THE USA: STRUCTURE AND PRINCIPLES OF ORGANIZATION
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
Animal husbandry is the second agricultural industry in the United States, along with crop production, currently at the highest level of development. An indicator of this is, first of all, the growth trend of most of its indicators that has been going on for many decades, as well as the high level of production efficiency that has been achieved along with the implementation of environmental-oriented programs in the industry. As a result, the United States is generally the largest producer and supplier of animal products for export in the world. One of the main factors that allowed the US livestock industry to reach such a level was the developed system of state regulation of the agricultural sector. Its main part is the price and income support section, which was formed separately and according to principles different from similar programs in crop production. By now, in the process of evolution, a quite distinct structure of such programs has been formed, certain trends and principles of its formation have emerged. This article is devoted to their analysis.
