Abstract. <\/strong>In a highly competitive environment, entrepreneurs who just want to enter the market need to find that innovative idea that will reach most consumers in order to subsequently build up momentum and increase the company’s profits. The article examines such a source of innovation as market necessity, which implies that constantly changing customer needs can influence the organization\u2019s development an and maintain its position in the market. That is why this source of innovation is of interest and often acts as a basis for the products development or modernization.<\/p>\n

The authors of the article consider the main distinguishing features of market necessity as an innovation source, present existing approaches to modeling the innovation process based on market necessity, and also provide examples of the «market need» model implementation in innovation.<\/p>\n
