This article is devoted to the field of rural development. The authors considered the main provisions of the state programs "Integrated development of rural areas" and "Development of agriculture and regulation of agricultural products, raw materials and food markets". A critical analysis of the process of implementing these programs based on the reports of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation is carried out. A number of different problems have been identified and ways of solving them have been proposed, primarily through the development and implementation of geoinformation systems for rural development in the process of territorial management.
